Linkin Park is an American rock group from Califormia. It was formed in 1996 but it became famous with their fist album: Hybrid Therory in 2000.
Their following album: Meteora continued the band's sucess: It topped the Billboard 200 chart and became the most sucessfull album in the history of the Modern Rock Chart.

Hybrid Theory (2000–2002)
Released the 24 October, 2000. This album was a massive comercial success selling over 4.8 millon records during its debut year earning it the status of best-selling album of 2001. Hybrid Theory won a Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Perfomance. MTV awared the album's song "In The End" for best rock video and best Direction. Meteora (2002–2004)
Linkin Park's second album was released the March 25, 2003 and was an instanly successfull album going to top #1 in America and #2 in Australia.
The album sold more than 800,000 copies during its first week and was ranked at the top in the Billboard Rock Charts at the time.
The album lead the group to organize their own musical festival called: Projekt Revolution which also featured another artist like Xzbit.
Side Projects
After producing meteora, Linkin Park contiuned onn tour and collaborated with other artists. The group's vocalist collaborated with DJ Lethal's "State of the Art" while Shinoda worked with Depeche Mode. In 2004 the band was composing with rapper Jay-Z their first remix album: Colision Course.
